NEW STORY CHALLENGE

Ray Bradbury said in one of his lectures that it is impossible to write 52 bad stories in a row and encouraged writers to write a story a week for a year. He is exactly right. I mean it's Ray Bradbury who wrote well over six hundred stories before he got his first acceptance. Yeah, not many people know about that. If you want some interresting reading google writer rejections and you will learn a thing or two. I'm going to do this challenge plus I'm going to publish the story at the end of the week. I indie publish everything I write for the most part. Though lately I've fallen short on the publishing thing. I've got stories written now that are just sitting in my back log. Does nobody any good that way. To add to that I'm writing two stories a week instead of that one. One story doesn't seem enough to me so I'm adding one. Plus I'd like ot have a hundred stories up by the end of the year and add in small collections. I have to get as many stories u

BEEN A WHILE

Wow. Been a while since I wrote about anyting on here I see. Been one of those things I've been meaning to get to but seem to never do. I think this time around I've just allowed too many things to get in my way. So I'm going to be positng here more than usual from here on out. There have been times I've wondrerd if I'm writing to anybody at all but it seems there have been a few people following this and frankly it kind of shocked me a bit. I've lerned just becasue people aren't commenting dosen't mean thery're not watching. I did write a few short stories which those will be up soon. I'm also going to step away from writing the more extreme type horror. I feel I've plunged into a territory I shouldn't be in to be honest. I want to write stories that people like to read and to me from what people tell me extreme horror has a very low market. I want this journal to share the day and life of a writer that is working with full time job and

STORY A DAY

So, story a day in May has begun for me. I love it every year when this challenge comes around because it is so much fun. This year I'm adding to it though. This time I'm publishing everything. I write it it goes up. Not the same day but a day or two after. So, if you're wanting to follow along where I'll be talking about my challenges and what I've done for the day and how I did it. Story one and two are finished and will be going up soon.I'm practicing the Ray Bradbury method where he intructs you to just sit down and write about whatever comes to mine. Shocking what I come up with at times when you do this. He states you are a much better writer and are more original when you sit down and blurt it out. That's right. Just blurt it out. To do this you really have to trust your sub-conscience which I do and leave that critical voice locked up tight in a room where he can't get out. Which I have. The covers for the stories are going to be the sam

Getting back on track

Wow, have I lost my writing flow within these last couple of months. Not good but at times it does happen. Seems I allowed this whole virus thing get to me more than I thought. I just feel like I'm not producing near of what I'm capable of. So, what does a writer do when that happens? Restart. It just so happens that I recently received a reminder about Story A Day In May coming up so this will be a great way to jump back in. I'll end up with thirty-one stories by the end of the month and that is great You'll be able to follow along here as I post. Till then, see ya soon

GUTS

If you haven't checked out my latest article at prowriterswriting.com you may want to give it a quick read where I talk briefly about the story, Guts by Chuck Palaniuck and how people fainted during the reading. Very awesome to read a story that is known to make people faint.Fair warning though, this is not for the faint of heart. I've included the link to it here if you have the guts. http://prowriterswriting.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYHLpEEz_8g
So, It's been a while since my last update so way over due. I think this whole virus thing going on had derailed a few things. Regardless I should be udating more than what I'm doing. Going out there squirting bugs and killing mice seems weird with everything pretty much shut down except for fast food drive thrus. Kind of creepy really and has an apocolypse feel to it. But, we shall get through it. Been working on a story for an anthology I'm going ot submit to called 'Evil Cookie Press' The name of the anothology is called Brewtality, so we'll see how that one goes. Just finished it last night and today I have a few touch ups I'm going to make that my creative mind came up with so I'm going to add that in. Very rarely do I take anything out, usually I add. I don't mess with what is already written down unless it's an obvious mistake. I fix errors and leave everything else alone. Also you should check out the new series on NetFlix called Bl
